No. The AmneziaVPN app is a free client - it needs a server to connect to, but that server doesn't have to be yours. You can either rent a VPS and self-host with Amnezia's installer, or subscribe to a hosted provider like Pyramid VPN that sends you a ready-to-import AmneziaWG key.

What is the difference between self-hosting Amnezia and a hosted key?

Self-hosting gives you full control but you pay for the VPS (typically $5-6/month for one location), set it up yourself, and maintain it. A hosted key costs about the same ($5/month at Pyramid VPN), takes five minutes, includes multiple server locations, and someone else handles uptime, updates, and security.

How do I import an AmneziaWG key into the AmneziaVPN app?
